Minutes September 11, 2012 Meeting

The Salem Township Board of Trustees met September 11, 2012 in regular session at the Salem Morrow Fire Station Conference Room for the purpose of transacting the business of the Township. President Kirk Ramsey called the meeting to order at 7:00 P.M. with members Heath Kilburn and Dick Dare present. Mr. Ramsey led all those present in the pledge of allegiance.

Others present: Chief Fred LaFollette, Donald Lynch, Ron Stratton, Lee Short, Frank Schlake, Asst. Chief Bill Harrison, Dave Opperman, Rodney Smith and Deputy Snelling.

The minutes were read and approved and posted in the building.

Items from the floor:

Donald Lynch issued a complaint regarding the fact he could not find a newspaper notice or flyer about the coming zoning hearing on September 13, 2012.

Lee Short explained that a notice was printed in the Western Star and a flyer would be posted at least 24 hours before the meeting. He went on to clarify that Ohio requires newspaper notices to be printed at least 10 days before a hearing. The zoning commission met these requirements.

Mr. Rodney Smith introduced himself as the Morrow Village Administrator, and stated he hopes to work with the township on future endeavors.

Approval to Pay Bills
The fiscal officer had prepared checks #12420- #12455, 91294-91295 which totaled $45,595.50.
The board examined the bills that were ready for payment and Dick Dare made a motion to pay the bills as presented. Kirk Ramsey seconded the motion.
Vote: Mr. Dare, yea    Mr. Ramsey, yea     Mr. Kilburn, yea

For this reporting period the fiscal officer deposited receipts in the amount of $4,232.04.
This amount included receipts #7548– #7551.

With no further business to come before the board, Heath Kilburn made a motion to adjourn the meeting at approximately 7:30 P.M. Mr. Dare seconded the motion.
