Minutes January 28, 2014 Meeting

The Salem Township Board of Trustees met January 28, 2014 in regular session at the Salem Morrow Fire Station Conference Room for the purpose of transacting the business of the Township. President Heath Kilburn call the meeting to order at 7:00 P.M. with member Ralph Blanton present. Kirk Ramsey was out of town. Mr. Kilburn asked Mike Kassalen to lead all those present in the pledge of allegiance.

Others present: Chief LaFollette, Asst. Chief Harrison, Ron Stratton, Bob Glancy, Don Lynch, Woodie Davis, Mike Kassalen, and Lori Hensley

The minutes were read and approved and posted on the bulletin board.

There were no updates to the cemetery records for this time period.

Fire Department
Assistant Chief Harrison reported there had been an increase in run volume. They had a water rescue this week.
There will be an ice rescue training this Saturday with four boats going out on the station pond located on the fire department property.
They are having joint trainings with Harlan Township.

Chief LaFollette brought up the issue of salt supply. They were able to get some from the county and are ok for the next snow.

Mike Kassalen, zoning inspector, had no zoning matters or permits for this meeting. He did mention he was following up on a few issues.

Fiscal Business

The fiscal officer prepared checks #14280- #14331, 91608-91617 which totaled $50,103.50.

The board examined the bills that were ready for payment and Ralph Blanton made a motion to pay the bills as presented. Heath Kilburn seconded the motion.
Vote: Mr. Blanton, yea Mr. Kilburn, yea

For this reporting period the fiscal officer deposited receipts in the amount of $23,741.00.
This amount included receipts #8098– #8119.

With no further business to come before the board, Ralph Blanton made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 7:10 P.M. Heath Kilburn seconded the motion.
