Minutes August 23, 2016 Meeting

The Salem Township Board of Trustees met August 23, 2016 in regular session at the Salem Morrow Fire Station Conference Room for the purpose of transacting the business of the Township. President Ralph Blanton called the meeting to order at 7:00 P.M. with members Heath Kilburn and Susan Ramsey present. Mr. Blanton led all those present in the pledge to the flag.

The Fiscal Officer, Debbie Harper, was absent and Mr. Blanton took minutes for this meeting.

Others present: Bob Glancy, Don Lynch, Chief Harrison, Jesse McKeehan, Jerry Martin, and Barbara Hall

The minutes were read and approved, and posted on the bulletin board.

Cemetery Updates

Fire Department
Chief Harrison had a new quote for the health insurance for the trustees to review. The rate was lower than the previous quote.

He asked the trustees to look at the bids for seal coating and striping the parking lot at the fire house.
Mr. Kilburn made a motion to table this discussion; seconded by Susan Ramsey.
Vote: All yeas

Don Lynch had questions about the following items:
Time Warner Video feed.
Having access to the regular building.
He mentioned street lights.

Zoning
Jesse McKeehan, zoning inspector, discussed meeting clients per phone calls.
He brought up the storage units that Don Lynch had asked about. They would be B2 zoning if they abut residential. A discussion followed.

Jerry Martin was present to discuss the trees that have been cut on Moore Saur Road. They may need to put up some guard rails. There is a need to get the arm mower out there to clean up the brush.

Heath Kilburn reported he is still looking into cameras for the cemetery

Fiscal Business

The Fiscal Officer had prepared checks #17414-17478, 92281-92299 which totaled $80,426.15.
The board examined the bills that were ready for payment and Susan Ramsey made a motion to pay the bills as presented. Heath Kilburn seconded the motion.
Vote: Mrs. Ramsey, yea Mr. Kilburn, yea Mr. Blanton, yea

For this reporting period the fiscal officer deposited receipts in the amount of $27,585.39 which included receipts #9119 - #9148.

With no further business to come before the board, Heath Kilburn made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 7:31 PM. Susan Ramsey seconded the motion.
